“Slow cooker manwich chicken is a very easy, good recipe for chicken. Serve it over rice or pasta or use it with tacos! Great main dish meal!” – Geoff Brown, Kitchener, ON
two to four chicken breasts, uncooked (can use frozen, fresh or any other pieces of chicken in this recipe)
one (15.5 ounce) can Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce
about 1/4 cup salsa
three to four TBSP honey, optional
one small onion, chopped
one small green pepper, chopped
Place chicken breasts in bottom of the crock pot. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over the chicken. Cook on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours or LOW for 7 hours. Enjoy!
So I prefer to first sear the chicken in a skillet on medium heat with butter, and two minutes on each side, seasoned with our favourite chicken seasoning of “Club House Roasted Garlic & Peppers” seasoning, before placing the chicken in the slow cooker.
Then scraping up the browned chicken bits left in the skillet with a splash of chicken broth (or water if you don’t have any chicken broth handy) and adding it to the other ingredients for extra flavour!
